Director of the African Union (AU) Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat has respected the ongoing positive advancements in the relations amongst Ethiopia and Eritrea, as indicated by an AU proclamation.
The two neighboring East African nations battled an outskirt war from 1998 to 2000 preceding marking a peace accord, named the Algiers assention, in December 2000.
On June 5, the Executive Committee of the decision party, the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) passed choice communicating Ethiopia's responsibility to a genuine usage of the December 2000 Algiers peace concurrence with Eritrea.
The executive of the AU Commission has noticed the declaration made by Ethiopia on June 5, communicating its promise to the full usage of the Algiers peace understanding of 12 December 2000, and also the choice of President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea, on June 20, to dispatch an assignment to Addis Ababa for useful commitment with Ethiopia, which was invited by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
